Overview
What it is

Who it is for
Developers already on GitHub who want one assistant across editors and pull requests.
Hands-on test
Not run yet
We have not run GitHub Copilot on our test box yet. It needs a login, a paid plan or a browser session we do not have set up, and we will not guess at results. Everything on this page comes from the official site and pricing page, checked on 15 October 2026. There is no score until we run the standard Godot 4 test.
Engines
Engine compatibility
Only engines we ran the tool with are marked as tested. Everything else says not tested yet, even where the vendor claims support.
| Engine | Status |

Pricing
What it costs
Free with limited chat and agent use, Pro $10 a month, Pro+ $39 a month, Max $100 a month. Chat and agent use draw on GitHub AI Credits (1 credit = $0.01). Checked on github.com/features/copilot/plans, 15 October 2026.
Prices change often. Check the vendor page before you buy.
Pros and cons
Good
- Free plan covers completions and some agent use
- Works in most editors, including ones game devs use for C# and C++
Watch out
- Credit-based billing makes heavy agent use harder to predict
- Individual plan data may be used for training unless you opt out
